Benjamin was inspired to start a local community of Boomerangistas in Singapore after attending the World Boomerang Championship 2026 held in Bandung, Indonesia.
Getting acquainted with boomerang enthusiasts from around the world broke his hiatus with the sport after more than a decade. It felt even more special as a lefty* (left-handed thrower) to finally meet others of the same hand orientation in person.
This website has been set-up to serve as a local rally point for activities and continuing an online repository of information and documentation of the sport we approach the mid-2000s to renew interest in the sport.
Despite land scarcity in Singapore, there is a good selection of decently flat open fields that are conducive to even the fringe limits of Aussie Round (>50m) boomerangs.
That being said, MTA (Maximum Time Aloft) and LD (Long Distance) boomerangs are generally not recommended in residential / urban build-up areas due to the high risk of loss to trees and out-of-bound travel paths into high-rise building elements in the garden city.
*It should be noted that most boomerang designs/for sale are almost always exclusively made first in the right-handed configuration.
If you were a Boomerangista in the USA between the 1970s-2000s - the first port of call is most likely Richard Harrison (aka The Boomerangman). At this point of writing, Richard is less than a decade away from being a centenarian having sold boomerangs from the 1970s.
Ben's very first returning boomerangs (obviously from Richard) were:
Australia: Stones Throw/Hawes - M17
Australia: Wycheproof - Admiral Hat
USA: Kendall Davis - The Wave
These boomerangs originate from historically rich pedigree names/families in the sport. I still recall spending more than a few weekends looking through Richard's website and finally settling on a V-shaped traditional (M17), a traditional wood-stained item adorned with Australian motifs (Admiral Hat) and finally a longer travel 'modern' colour pop one (The Wave) to round off the set.
Unfortunately today (ca. 2026) - Stones Throw is no more (like with many other boomerang makers that has dropped off during my hiatus) but Kendall Davis and Wycheproof still carries on with their wares. Kendall actually started off buying boomerangs from Richard before making his own!
There isn't many of us right now - join us, pretty please?
